Tell us a little bit about your photography - where are you based and what type of photography do you currently enjoy?

I'm a wedding photographer who's photographed couples full time for over a decade. I create imagery and space filled moments with camera in hand with a in-depth & fun approach. I'd describe my style as effortless & elevated. I'm based in sunny Santa Barbara, California!

In only a couple of words, how would you describe your style of photography

Effortless & Elevated

Tell us about one of your most memorable photoshoots or perhaps a favourite photo you have taken?

One of my most memorable experiences as a photographer was shooting a jaw dropping mountaintop wedding in Malibu, Ca. Nestled amidst the clouds at a Malibu estate, my client's Natalie and Kevin's wedding was a timeless dream come true. The venue, a picturesque Tuscan-style villa perched above sprawling vineyards, offered breathtaking panoramic views - mountains, ocean, and even the city skyline. It was the perfect setting for the couple to celebrate their love and new life together.

As a photographer, nurturing your creativity while trying to balance self employment and life can be a little tricky sometimes. Where do you find the inspiration to continue creating and maintaining consistency?

It gives me so much life to reflect. Every week, I take time to reflect on my inner world. Carving out quiet moments allows me to process experiences, emotions, and ideas that can later translate into creative concepts. Taking time to step outside of the busy has been a game changer for me. I'm able to nurture the creativity within by taking dreaming retreats and getting inspired by other arts! Allow me to share more... Dream Retreats: I find dedicated time away from the daily grind to be invaluable. Stepping outside the usual routine allows fresh perspectives and fosters a more open mind for inspiration to strike. I've found booking a little vacation rental in a nearby city or in the desert to be where I can do this. Cross-pollination with other arts: Like most of us, I find inspiration in other mediums, especially music & paintings. Exploring different forms of art can spark unexpected connections and ignite new ideas for compositions, lighting, or even themes in my photography. By creating a rhythm of these practices, I can keep the creative wellspring flowing and maintain a consistent output in my work.

Having grown as a photographer, is there any piece of advice that you could give to yourself when you first started down this path, or wish you had known sooner?

I truly wish I would have taken dreaming & reflection more seriously, sooner.

Is there anything special you have been working on - mentoring, workshops, courses etc. We'd love to let other photographers know!

We're always excited to connect fellow photographers. While I don't currently offer formal workshops or courses, my husband (and business partner!) and I are actually working on something pretty special you might be interested in. We're building an online print shop called "Print the Coast." It's a platform to support local artists - like us! and contribute to a cause we're both passionate about: human freedom. We're hoping to launch this year (2024) and share artwork that's meaningful & embodies the places we've explored and the cities that hold our hearts. Would you be interested in learning more, our website is printthecoast.co! And even better, if you have photographed a special coast & you're interested in being a featured artist please reach out on my website!

What gear are you currently using and what would you typically carry in your Kamrette camera bag?

Here's what is in my new Kamrette bag! Cameras: Two Sony mirrorless cameras Lenses: A holy trinity of lenses - the 85mm for vertical portraits, the 35mm for everyday magic, and the 24-70mm for versatility! Film camera: 2 film cameras -- A Canon & a 90's Minolta. Essentials: Memory cards, extra batteries, and a lens cleaning cloth are photographer must haves. Personal touches: Sunglasses for bright days, lip gloss for on-the-go touch ups, and some snacks to keep my energy up during long shoots!

Let's finish it off with a fan favourite - if you could only have one lens, which one would you choose?

I'd say 24-70, that way I can shoot with the most variety!
