Tell us a little bit about your photography - where are you based and what type of photography do you currently enjoy?
I am based in Saint Louis, Missouri, but have a passion for travel + destination photography! I have loved all seasons of sessions, but currently trying to focus more on weddings + elopements!
In only a couple of words, how would you describe your style of photography?
Dreamy + Timeless
Tell us about one of your most memorable photoshoots or perhaps a favourite photo you have taken?
There is SO MANY! My favorite one would have to be a session I did for the Wish of a Lifetime Foundation. They had an elder woman that wanted to fly a plane one last time. She was I believe 86 years old. I personally have a strong love for Aviation, so getting to go up in a different plane and photograph her flying for the last time was extremely memorable and sentimental!
As a photographer, nurturing your creativity while trying to balance self-employment and life can be a little tricky sometimes. Where do you find the inspiration to continue creating and maintaining consistency?
I full believe in taking breaks to just regroup with yourself or your team and find things that really spark your creative spot in your brain! I love traveling and I feel that the best way for me to renew my creativity is just being outside within nature somewhere where I typically am not at every day.
Having grown as a photographer, is there any piece of advice that you could give to yourself when you first started down this path, or wish you had known sooner?
I wish I gave myself more grace in the beginning. Everyone has to start somewhere. Your time + talent is so worthy!
Is there anything special you have been working on - mentoring, workshops, courses etc.? We'd love to let other photographers know!
I am currently running a discount on destination wedding and elopements! Photographers if you are looking to get married, I would love to collab!
What gear are you currently using and what would you typically carry in your Kamrette camera bag?
I just recently go the Lyra Backpack for the 2nd time and I am obsessed! I had the brown bag first and I had to have the green one! I also just got the Versa crossbody and I am also obsessed. When I decided that I wanted a new camera bag I originally thought I would browse other brands, but no other brand came close to the quality and style that Kamrette offers. I am truly in love!
Let's finish it off with a fan favourite - if you could only have one lens, which one would you choose?
35 mm - always!
