Tell us a little bit about your photography - where are you based and what type of photography do you currently enjoy?
I am a wedding and lifestyle photographer based in Kamloops BC, Canada! My schedule is usually filled with couples, intimate weddings, branding/solos, and small families. Couples make up a large majority of my clients, and I enjoy it so much because I love LOVE! I love being the reason two people in-love get to head out, get away from the craziness that is life, and spend some intentional, uninterrupted time together.
In only a couple of words, how would you describe your style of photography?
Intimate. Laid-back. Genuine
Tell us about one of your most memorable photoshoots or perhaps a favourite photo you have taken?
My most memorable would definitely be my 2023 winter elopement styled shoot - we had 14 vendors come together to create something truly beautiful at a really unique venue. The best part was connecting with other wedding vendors and creating community with each other!
As a photographer, nurturing your creativity while trying to balance self employment and life can be a little tricky sometimes. Where do you find the inspiration to continue creating and maintaining consistency?
Acknowledging the fact that I will never be the best or #1 - out of 7 billion people on the earth you're just never going to be the best at something and that's OKAY. Because with that means that there is always someone who is looking up to you and inspired by you. You can't be #1 but you can be someone's #1. So knowing there's someone out there who's inspired by me is enough to keep me going. I also make sure to take time off often and rest when I need it. I never want to overbook myself and burn out; I want to give my clients the best possible experience and that means taking care of myself.
Having grown as a photographer, is there any piece of advice that you could give to yourself when you first started down this path, or wish you had known sooner?
I honestly just wish I would have started sooner. I'm a big believer that everything happens for a reason, but I wish I could have told myself just do the thing. The timing of your life is never going to feel perfect. There will always be a reason not to do the hard thing. But life is so short and you just don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. Chase your dreams!

What gear are you currently using and what would you typically carry in your Kamrette camera bag?
I have the Lyra Backpack in black and I am just fully obsessed. On an average session/wedding day I carry 2 bodies, flash and accessories, 2-3 lenses, harness, batteries, SD cards, a disposable camera, and my Bluetooth speaker. It's such a great size and BEAUTIFUL too!
