Tell us a little bit about your photography - where are you based and what type of photography do you currently enjoy?

I am based in Northern Ontario, Canada. My photography is heavily inspired by the earth, the trees, every element in between. I strive to keep my art organic, sincere, and full of heart and light. I am currently enjoying any photography that speaks to the soul - whether that is an intimate couples session, birth photography, or an elopement in the mountains. I am a dreamer, and am constantly inspired by everything that makes me feel something to the core.

In only a couple of words, how would you describe your style of photography

Earthy, organic, woodsy, ethereal, and emotional.

Tell us about one of your most memorable photoshoots or perhaps a favourite photo you have taken?

By far, my most memorable experience is when I captured birth. It felt like an out of body experience. Being a mother, and witnessing the strength of the woman in front of me give birth without anything but her grit, determination, and love was the most extradorinaiy exposure to humanity.

As a photographer, nurturing your creativity while trying to balance self employment and life can be a little tricky sometimes. Where do you find the inspiration to continue creating and maintaining consistency?

To continue creating art with emotion is what drives me. it will be a year in March that I experienced the most tragic loss of my life. Losing my father suddenly has changed my perspective, entirely. Not sweating the small stuff, focusing on the good, and letting go what you cannot change. Life is so precious, so prioritizing family and myself has become a forefront. However, with that shift I have unleashed a new layer of creativity that I hadn't yet unlocked. Grief and love are very powerful paradigms.

Having grown as a photographer, is there any piece of advice that you could give to yourself when you first started down this path, or wish you had known sooner?

Comparison is the thief of joy.

Is there anything special you have been working on - mentoring, workshops, courses etc. We'd love to let other photographers know!

I am currently organizing a wedding show: "Northern Ontario Wedding Expo." It is in partnership with a beautiful venue in Verner, Ontario called "Barn and Bliss." I am also consistently mentoring other photographers, and I find that to be a learning opportunity for me too.

What gear are you currently using and what would you typically carry in your Kamrette camera bag

My go to camera body is the Canon R6, and I shoot with my Sigma 1.4 lens 99% of the time. I also carry a Canon Mark 5 body, as well as a 85mm lens. Of course, my bag is also jam packed with SD cards and batteries.

Let's finish it off with a fan favourite - if you could only have one lens, which one would you choose?
