Tell us a little bit about your photography - where are you based and what type of photography do you currently enjoy?
I'm based in Hobart Tasmania. I started out as a landscape/ hobby photographer and now part own a wedding photography business with my partner. Weddings are definitely my favourite but landscapes hold a special place in my heart.
In only a couple of words, how would you describe your style of photography?

Light, bright and soft

Tell us about one of your most memorable photoshoots or perhaps a favourite photo you have taken?

My most memorable would have to be a content shoot for a winery rebrand, that turned into a maternity shoot for the owner. She was three days away from giving birth and we had the most incredible golden morning light. On the property is the most stunning tree in the middle of a huge paddock and as the sun rise over it, the whole paddock was so golden and the mist coming off the long grass was the most beautiful thing I had ever witnessed.

From our experience, creativity can be like rollercoaster. Where you find the inspiration to continue creating?

Rest is super important. Setting boundaries when it comes to responding to emails and messages after standard work hours. Having days away from the desk and spending quality time with family and friends. Less time on social media and trying not to compare your work to others, especially since I've been so unwell the past 6 months, trying not to look at it as "I'm falling behind and everyone else is getting further ahead and getting more work than I am" and that I'm taking time to rest and recover and come back with a fresh outlook on work and creativity.

Having grown as a photographer, is there any piece of advice that you could give to yourself when you first started down this path, or wish you had known sooner?

As much as saying yes to every opportunity is important in the beginning, it's more important to say yes to opportunities that align with you, your beliefs and the areas you want to specialise in.

Is there anything special you have been working on - mentoring, workshops, courses etc. We'd love to let other photographers know!

At the moment I'm working hard behind the scenes to develop our wedding business lu + lo. We're planning a small re brand over the coming months. I'm also very excited to now be able to announce that I'm one of Nikon Australia's Z creators. This has been a huge dream come true for me, as I've been using Nikon cameras for well over 10 years now!

What gear are you currently using and what would you typically carry in the Kamrette camera bag?

I'm shooting with two bodies for weddings, NikonZ7ii + NikonZ6. I also carry my two go to wedding lenses, 24-70mm f2.8 and the 70-200mm f2.8, as well as my new 85mm f1.8 portrait lens. I carry 6 spare batteries and 2 spare XQD cards too.

Let's finish it off with a favourite question - if you could only have one lens, which one would you choose?

24-70mm f2.8! It's my main lens and I cannot live without it! Such a versatile lens
